Ultraviolet Optoelectronics for Better Living -- Prof. Zetian Mi
Tuesday, September 8th at 10 am on Zoom (see event page for Meeting Info)
07-22 -- We want to thank everyone for their kit requests. We have received requests for over 100 kits! We have reached the maximum number of kit requests for now, so we will not be accepting more requests for the time being.
We are making kits based on our Fluorescence and Lasercomm activities!
We hope to entertain people of all ages with our kits, but we recommend help from an adult for ages 8 to 12. Ages 12+ can perform the experiments independently.
Remote Events TBD

In collaboration with FUSE, we created a new Fluorescence activity and taught the activity at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA). Students learn about the science of why things glow under UV lights and get to make a mini fluorescent lava lamp.
Click here to read more about the event.
We tested a newly updated LaserComm activity at the local science museum (MOXI). The new activity is easier to use and more engaging! It uses a Laser/LED, numerous light-guiding components, and some electronics to send music with light!
