The PhoSoc UCSB's Outreach Team works on developing new outreach activities and lesson plans to introduce people of all ages to The Science of Light that we love.
By plugging in to the many existing outreach programs run at U.C. Santa Barbara, we've been able to introduce students from Santa Barbara, Goleta, and surrounding cities to the photonics they use every day, such as optical communications, the science of colors and new cutting-edge technologies such as Laser Communications.

After-School ScienceSee the lessons and activities we've developed that are deployed to after-school science nights at local 8th grade schools.
